Hyundai Verna Facelift Launched In India With ADAS And New Features

Hyundai has officially introduced the updated Verna in India, with prices starting at Rs 10,98,400 (ex showroom). The latest version of the popular midsize sedan brings a refreshed design along with several new comfort, technology and safety features. On the outside, the Verna receives subtle styling updates that give it a sharper appearance. The front end now features a redesigned bumper with a larger grille and a bigger set of dual LED headlamps. The signature full width LED light bar has been retained but appears thicker than before, adding to the car’s modern look. At the rear, the Verna continues with its distinctive L shaped LED tail lamps that are connected by a light bar running across the boot lid. The rear bumper now integrates a diffuser element with a silver insert, while the stepped rear spoiler from the previous version has been carried forward. The sedan also rides on a new set of 16 inch diamond cut alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, Hyundai has focused on improving comfort and practicality. The Verna gets a driver oriented cockpit along with a D cut steering wheel. The driver seat now offers 8 way electric adjustment with memory and a welcome retract function, while the front passenger seat features 4 way electric adjustment and a segment first electric walk in device. Additional convenience features include a rear window sunshade and Hyundai’s Smart Trunk system, which allows hands free access to the boot. The sedan also offers a generous boot capacity of 528 litres. Technology remains one of the highlights of the Verna. The sedan comes equipped with dual 10.25 inch displays for the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. Other features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an electric sunroof, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats and a 360 degree camera with blind spot monitoring. Hyundai has also equipped the Verna with a segment first 8 speaker Bose sound system along with a switchable type infotainment and automatic climate control interface. Under the hood, the Verna continues with two petrol engine options. The first is a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with either a 6 speed manual gearbox or an IVT automatic transmission. The second is a 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine that is available with a 6 speed manual or a 7 speed dual clutch transmission. Safety has also been enhanced with more than 75 safety features on offer. The sedan comes with Level 2 ADAS, seven airbags and an integrated dashcam. Other safety systems include disc brakes on all four wheels, hill start assist control, ABS with EBD, ESC with vehicle stability management, tyre pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX child seat mounts and rear parking sensors.
