Mahindra to launch BE.07-based born-electric SUV in 2027

Mahindra & Mahindra has confirmed that its next ‘born-electric’ SUV will be launched in calendar year 2027. Internally codenamed B07, the upcoming model will be the production version of the Mahindra BE.07 concept showcased earlier. Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and CEO (Auto and Farm Sector), stated that B07 is the internal codename and the final production name will be different. He also indicated that the model is expected to become a major volume driver for the brand, complementing its existing electric portfolio. The B07 will be Mahindra’s fourth born-electric SUV, joining the Mahindra BE 6, Mahindra XEV 9e, and Mahindra XEV 9S. It will be underpinned by Mahindra’s INGLO skateboard platform, which is specifically designed for electric vehicles. The BE.07 concept, first revealed in 2022, featured a sharp, futuristic design with muscular proportions and flared wheel arches. It also showcased distinctive C-shaped LED DRLs and taillights, design cues that could carry over to the production model.
