Maruti Suzuki To Invest ₹10,189 Crore In Gujarat Plant Expansion
Maruti Suzuki has announced a ₹10,189 crore investment to expand production capacity at its Gujarat facility, adding 2.5 lakh units annually by 2029.

Maruti Suzuki has announced a fresh investment of ₹10,189 crore in its Gujarat manufacturing facility to expand production capacity. The move is aimed at strengthening the company’s manufacturing capabilities as demand for its vehicles continues to grow. In a regulatory filing, the company revealed that the investment will be used to add a new production line with an annual capacity of 2,50,000 vehicles. According to the company, the first phase of the new capacity is expected to become operational by 2029, depending on market conditions. Maruti Suzuki currently operates four major manufacturing facilities in India – Gurgaon, Manesar, Kharkhoda and Hansalpur (Gujarat). Together, these plants have a total installed production capacity of around 24 lakh units per year. The automaker also stated that its overall production capacity could be scaled up further to approximately 26 lakh units annually as part of its long-term expansion plans. The company’s regulatory filing also revealed the top five models produced by Maruti Suzuki based on production volume during the year. These include the Fronx, Baleno, Swift, Dzire and Ertiga, which continue to be among the brand’s most popular models in the Indian market. The investment in the Gujarat facility reflects Maruti Suzuki’s strategy to expand production capacity and maintain its leadership position in India’s passenger vehicle market while preparing for future demand growth.
