Nissan Gravite Gets CNG Kit Option Starting At Rs 82,999
Nissan has launched a government-approved CNG retrofitment kit for the Gravite with twin-cylinder technology and retained 7-seater practicality.
Nissan has introduced a government-approved CNG retrofitment kit for the Nissan Gravite in India, expanding the SUV’s appeal among buyers looking for lower running costs and improved fuel efficiency. The new CNG kit is being offered across 60 cities in 16 states at an introductory price of Rs 82,999.
The retrofitment kit has been developed by Motozen and comes with a third-party warranty coverage of 3 years or 1,00,000 km. Nissan states that the kit has been specifically engineered for the Gravite and complies with the latest BS6.2 emission norms.
One of the biggest highlights of the Nissan Gravite CNG is its segment-first twin-cylinder setup. The SUV uses two separate 25-litre CNG cylinders instead of a single large tank. This design helps preserve boot space and allows the Gravite to retain its practical 7-seater layout, which is a major selling point for family buyers in the segment.
According to Nissan, the CNG cylinders use heavy-duty construction with an 8.1 mm thickness for improved durability and safety. The system also gets Dynamic Advancer Technology, which has been optimized specifically for the Gravite to improve drivability and fuel efficiency while operating in CNG mode.
Another important detail is the placement of the fuel filler. Nissan has neatly integrated the CNG filler beneath the stock fuel lid, maintaining a cleaner factory-like appearance without affecting overall usability. The rear seat arrangement has also been adjusted carefully to ensure passenger comfort is not compromised despite the addition of the CNG setup.
The Nissan Gravite CNG continues to be powered by the same 1.0-litre petrol engine. In standard petrol mode, the engine produces 71 BHP and 96 Nm of torque. As with most CNG-equipped vehicles, power and torque figures are expected to be slightly lower while running on CNG.
The introduction of the CNG option is expected to strengthen the Gravite’s position in the growing affordable SUV market, especially at a time when more buyers are looking for fuel-efficient alternatives due to rising fuel prices. With its twin-cylinder layout, retained 7-seat practicality and factory-supported retrofitment package, the Nissan Gravite CNG aims to offer a more practical solution for budget-conscious family SUV buyers.
