Nissan Tekton SUV India Debut Scheduled For July 9
Nissan is preparing to unveil the new Tekton midsize SUV in India on July 9 with bold styling, ADAS and turbo-petrol engines.

Nissan is preparing to officially debut its new midsize SUV, the Tekton, in India on July 9, 2026. The upcoming SUV will enter one of India’s most competitive segments and take on rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, Maruti Victoris and even its platform sibling, the Renault Duster. The Nissan Tekton has already started generating attention due to its bold styling and SUV-focused design language inspired by the larger Nissan Patrol. The teaser reveals an upright and muscular front fascia featuring a full-width LED light bar stretching across the nose of the SUV. The Tekton also gets distinctive C-shaped LED daytime running lights that give it a modern and premium road presence. Another major design highlight is the dual chrome strip integrated into the front grille area, adding to the SUV’s rugged yet sophisticated appearance. From the side, the Tekton is expected to feature prominent body lines along with a unique ‘Double-C’ design accent integrated into the front doors. At the rear, the SUV gets a connected LED tail lamp setup running across the width of the tailgate along with signature C-shaped tail lamps. The overall styling appears to combine modern crossover elements with rugged SUV-inspired proportions aimed at attracting family SUV buyers. Inside the cabin, the Nissan Tekton is expected to offer a feature-loaded interior with several premium comfort and convenience technologies. Reports suggest the SUV could come equipped with a large touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, wireless smartphone charging and ventilated front seats. Higher variants are also likely to offer a panoramic sunroof and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), which have become increasingly popular in the midsize SUV segment. The Tekton will reportedly share its platform and underpinnings with the Renault Duster. Engine options are expected to include Renault-Nissan Alliance turbo-petrol units including a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a larger 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine. Transmission choices are likely to include both manual and automatic gearbox options depending on the variant. The launch of the Tekton is expected to play a major role in strengthening Nissan’s presence in India’s high-volume SUV market, especially at a time when demand for midsize SUVs continues to grow rapidly. With bold styling, modern technology and turbo-petrol powertrains, the Nissan Tekton is expected to position itself as a premium and feature-rich alternative in the segment.
