Renault Bridger Concept Revealed; India Launch Expected By 2027
Renault has unveiled the Bridger Concept, previewing a rugged sub 4 meter SUV planned for India by 2027.
Renault has unveiled the Bridger Concept, offering a glimpse of a new compact SUV that is expected to arrive in India by the end of 2027. The concept previews a rugged sub 4 metre SUV that could become an important addition to Renault’s future lineup in the Indian market.
The Bridger concept adopts a bold and boxy design with an upright stance that gives it a strong SUV presence. Renault says the concept offers 200 mm of ground clearance, complemented by large 18 inch alloy wheels that enhance its rugged appeal.
At the front, the SUV features a distinctive fascia with a gloss black panel stretching across the width of the vehicle. The panel integrates illuminated Renault lettering and is flanked by a unique LED lighting signature. The design is further highlighted by a two tone clamshell bonnet and a chunky front bumper with a prominent silver insert.
The side profile continues the rugged theme with angular flared wheel arches and black cladding around the fenders. The Bridger also features a flat roofline, roof rails and rear door handles that are neatly integrated into the C pillars, giving the SUV a clean and modern appearance.
At the rear, the SUV gets an upright tailgate design with dual LED tail lamps. A side hinged tailgate with a spare wheel mounted at the centre reinforces the SUV’s off road inspired character. Additional design elements include black body extensions and muscular surfaces that give the vehicle a robust stance.
Renault has not revealed the interior design of the Bridger concept yet. However, the company has confirmed that the cabin will offer generous space with around 200 mm of rear knee room and a boot capacity of approximately 400 litres.
The production version of the Bridger is expected to be built on Renault’s R GMP platform. Renault is likely to offer multiple powertrain options for the SUV, including petrol, hybrid and fully electric variants.
Once introduced, the Renault Bridger could compete in India’s highly competitive compact SUV segment, which continues to see strong demand from buyers looking for practical yet rugged urban SUVs.
