Renault launches all-new third-generation Duster SUV in India
Renault has officially launched the third-generation Duster in India with new engines, modern features and prices starting at Rs 10.49 lakh.
Renault has officially introduced the all-new third-generation Duster in India, marking the return of one of the most popular SUVs in the segment. Prices for the new Duster start at Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom), and the SUV is available in five trims – Authentic, Evolution, Techno, Techno+, and Iconic.
According to Renault, 91 percent of the early bookings are for the turbo-petrol variants, highlighting strong demand for the more powerful versions. The company has also confirmed that a hybrid variant will arrive later this year, although initial production for that version has already been fully allocated.
The new Duster is built on the Renault Group Modular Platform (RGMP), which allows improved structural rigidity and supports electrified powertrains. The SUV rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and offers a ground clearance of 212 mm, maintaining the rugged credentials that made the earlier Duster popular among buyers.
Design-wise, the new model carries forward the tough SUV stance of its predecessor while adding several modern touches. It features LED headlights with integrated DRLs, a bold grille with prominent Duster lettering, and a chunky front bumper with silver skid-style elements. The SUV also gets muscular wheel arches with body cladding and a more sculpted profile. At the rear, the design stands out with triangular LED tail lamps connected by a light bar, along with a roof spoiler.
Inside the cabin, the new Duster gets a significantly upgraded interior with a dual-screen setup consisting of a digital instrument cluster and a central touchscreen infotainment system. The SUV also offers a three-spoke steering wheel, six-way power-adjustable and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and an electronic parking brake.
In terms of safety and driver assistance, the Duster is equipped with Level 2 ADAS features, including Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, and several other advanced assistance systems.
The SUV is offered with three powertrain options. The entry-level variants are powered by a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine (999 cc) producing 99 BHP and 160 Nm, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Higher variants come with a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine (1330 cc) delivering 161 BHP and 280 Nm, available with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Renault will also introduce a strong hybrid powertrain later this year. This setup uses a 1.8-litre petrol engine (1798 cc) combined with an electric motor, starter generator and a 1.4 kWh battery pack, producing a combined 158 BHP and 172 Nm. The hybrid version will be paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
