Skoda Recalls 221 Kodiaq SUVs In India Over Seat Frame Defect
Skoda has recalled 221 units of the Kodiaq in India due to a defect in the front seat frame that could affect side airbag performance.

Skoda has issued a recall for 221 units of the Kodiaq SUV in India due to a potential defect in the front seat frame. The affected vehicles were manufactured between March 10, 2025, and December 8, 2025. According to information available on the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) website, the issue is related to the edge of the inner frame of the front seats. This defect could compromise the effectiveness of the side airbags during deployment. In the event of a collision, the faulty seat frame may reduce the protection offered by the side airbags, potentially increasing the risk of injury to occupants. Skoda is expected to contact owners of the affected vehicles directly and inform them about the recall. The company will carry out a detailed inspection and rectify the issue free of cost. The second-generation Skoda Kodiaq was launched in India in April 2025. The SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 201 BHP and 320 Nm, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive system. This recall highlights the brand’s focus on maintaining safety standards and addressing potential issues proactively.
