Triumph Bonneville 400 Spotted Testing Ahead of India Launch
Triumph’s upcoming Bonneville 400 has been spotted testing, hinting at a new modern-classic addition to the 400 lineup.

Triumph Motorcycles is gearing up to expand its 400cc lineup with a new modern-classic offering, likely to be called the Triumph Bonneville 400. The motorcycle has now been spotted testing in Europe, suggesting that its global debut is getting closer, with an India launch expected in Q4 2026. The spy images clearly reveal strong design inspiration from the iconic Bonneville range. The bike features a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, round LED headlamp, single-pod instrument console and a clean, retro silhouette, all of which are signature elements of Triumph’s modern-classic lineup. Ergonomics appear to be focused on comfort, with wide handlebars, mid-set footpegs and a flat single-piece seat, making it suitable for both city rides and relaxed highway cruising. The presence of a peashooter-style exhaust further enhances its classic appeal. The test mule seen overseas is likely powered by the familiar 400cc single-cylinder engine currently used in models like the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X. However, for the Indian market, Triumph is expected to equip the bike with its new TR-Series 350cc engine, which helps position the motorcycle in a lower tax bracket while keeping performance competitive. Cycle parts remain simple yet effective, in line with the retro theme. The Bonneville 400 is expected to feature a telescopic front fork with gaiters and dual rear shock absorbers, paired with wire-spoke wheels. Braking duties will be handled by disc brakes at both ends, likely with dual-channel ABS as standard. With this model, Triumph is aiming to bring the Bonneville experience to a more accessible price point, targeting riders who want classic styling with modern reliability and performance. Once launched, the Bonneville 400 will expand Triumph’s rapidly growing small-capacity portfolio in India, offering a more lifestyle-oriented alternative to the Speed 400 and Scrambler range.
