TVS becomes world third largest two wheeler manufacturer ahead of Yamaha
TVS Motor Company has overtaken Yamaha to become the third largest two wheeler manufacturer globally.
TVS Motor Company has overtaken Yamaha Motor Company to become the third largest two wheeler manufacturer in the world by sales.
TVS sold 5.46 million units globally in 2025, marking strong growth compared to 4.52 million units in 2024. In contrast, Yamaha reported sales of 5 million units during the same period, registering only 0.8 percent growth year on year.
At the top of the global rankings remains Honda Motor Company, which continues to dominate the two wheeler market. Honda sold 16.44 million units in 2025, up from 15.51 million units in 2024.
Hero MotoCorp also remains among the world’s largest two wheeler manufacturers, with total sales of 6.25 million units last year, placing it ahead of TVS in overall volumes.
In India, TVS holds a strong position as the third largest two wheeler brand, with an estimated 19 to 20 percent market share. The company has also gained significant momentum in the electric two wheeler segment, consistently featuring among the top sellers in monthly EV sales charts.
Looking ahead, TVS plans to expand its global presence further by tapping into emerging two wheeler markets across Europe Africa Latin America Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
